This is an interesting topic. In the case of the Illinois Governor accused of trying to sell Sen. Obama's vacated seat, the public appears to have already judged him, virtually assuming that he is guilty.
President Obama made a statement, apparently to the effect that he won. I have not seen the complete quote, and I am not aware of the context in which it was uttered.
For all of us, we should "assume" there is no negative component or aspect of someone else's conduct, or at a minimum, remain neutral, until we determine the facts or investigate further.
Quickly making judgments or jumping to conclusions is usually due to making assumptions which may serve our small, selfish, petty concerns, but do a disservice to ourselves and society ultimately.
